Dark Ascent
Dark Ascent Imperial Black Lager with Local Maple Syrup 7.5% abv
Our annual release of Dark Ascent is here. It starts with a base of Pilsner and dark German malts, and incorporates other deep roasted dark grains, as well as a kiss of German smoked malts. It’s fermented cold and slow, and goes through a secondary fermentation on local maple syrup to finally end at an imperial abv of 7%. The balance of all of these ingredients and flavors combine to make what we think is the perfect imperial dark beer. Last year we took home not only a write up in craft beer and brewing magazine for this brew, but also a silver medal from NYS craft beer competition.
